斯科特·里奇曼, Regional Director of the ADL (Anti Defamation League) in New York and New Jersey, visited Heschel 高中 for an important program about understanding antisemitism. 这个项目, organized by the Office of Jewish and Student Life, was facilitated by 高中 Student Council President Jared Levy and focused on a variety of topics including defining antisemitism, 举报反犹主义的方法, and an ADL audit that discovered that antisemitic incidents in the United States reached an all-time high in 2021.
Members of the Interfaith club represented the Jewish community at the Academy of Mount Saint Ursula Interfaith Thanksgiving service in the Bronx. Our students taught the entire Catholic school 歌声和祈祷， Oseh您好, and offered a few words about the Jewish prayer for peace. Our students then toured the campus and made friends with the students, marking the beginning of exciting interfaith friendships that will continue when AMSU comes to visit Heschel in the Spring!

As part of a research project analyzing air quality, the Grade 12 Environmental Chemistry students took measurements of several primary and secondary air pollutants in multiple indoor areas of the building, as well as outside by the Hudson River in proximity of the highway. They measured and analyzed the concentrations in the air of carbon dioxide, 挥发性有机化合物, 可吸入颗粒物, 和地面臭氧. The goal of this unit is to learn how these various products of human activity are affecting our planet's atmosphere and determine how to minimize their impact on our health and environment.
Grade 9 traveled to Boundless Adventures for a day of bonding, adventure, and fun! 学生 soared through the treetops on zip lines and rope courses, enjoyed a pizza lunch and delicious cups of hot chocolate. We are so excited to see the memories the Class of 2026 will continue to make throughout their years at Heschel!
